Bird Nest {Party} Favors

I blogged here about the baby shower I recently put together.

Today, I'm going to show you how to make super cute & super easy party favors!

First, a few supplies.  I got most of my supplies at Hobby Lobby.

Supplies

Jordan Almonds

Small Clear Bags (in cake decorating section)

Mini Bird's Nest (in floral section)

Ribbon

Tape

Labels
(I used printable Avery labels from Wal-Mart)

Directions

First, fill your clear bag with some almonds.  I did about 8-10 per bag.

Fold over the top, and make it tight.

Add a little piece of tape.

Put the bag of almonds in your bird nest, kind of towards one side.  Don't center it-you want the almonds peeking out.

Lay your ribbon under your nest....

Bring up the ribbon on both sides, and cross in the front.  Like this:

Put the label right on top of the ribbon/bag of almonds.

DONE!  And so cute!

{Dining Room} Tour

I shared with you here, our girl's room in the new house!

Today I would love to share with you our Dining Room.  It is SO NICE to not eat every meal in the kitchen any more!  I love that we have a separate dining room for dinner time and holidays.  

I know some families wouldn't use a "formal" dining room, but we do!

So here it is!

We got at extra long table, with leaves than can be taken out.  The six chairs in the middle are fully wipe-able   And boy, am I glad about that!

I'm in LOVE with these "queen" chairs, as Miss J calls them.  The high backs are so fun!

Pillows for each of the "queen" chairs.  Love this print.

I couldn't believe my good luck when I found this buffet!  It's perfect for the aqua accents I did it the room.

The weathered, rustic feel is great for this space.  The little drawers are handy for storing all my entertaining supplies too!

On top of the buffet, I found these aqua lamps, and my favorite white candlesticks.  They belonged to my great-grandma.  She is the one who taught me to sew-I miss her an awful lot.

The brassy mirror above my buffet *might* be my favorite part of the room.

Or this life size pocket watch.  It's a tie!

For the middle of the table, I found this chippy, aqua tray.  I threw in a few succulents, and called it good!

{Mint & Coral} Baby Shower

Recently, I was able to host a baby shower for my friend, Emily! 

We went with mint and coral as the shower colors.  

It was a fun afternoon!

We had lots of yummy food......

Girls Room {Tour}

We moved into our new place a few months ago, and first up on our list was getting our girl's room done!

Have you ever had a vague idea of how you wanted your space to turn out, but no clue how to do it?  That was me!!

I turned to Casey Grace Design for help on this space.

(btw, they are not paying me to blog about any of this.  they are an awesome design team, and I want you to know about them!)

The process was SO simple.  I filled out an online questionnaire about my tastes, and what I wanted/didn't want in the room.  I was able to set a budget.

After just a few short e-mails back and forth, I was sent an awesome Style Board, with pictures of the furniture & accessories, and a source list of where I could find it all.


IT. WAS. SO. WORTH. IT.

The Girl's Room turned out so cute. 

 Way better than if I had tried to do it myself!

I love the girls beds.  They are so feminine and girly!

A close up of Miss J's peace sign pillow.  Her major request in her new room was to have peace signs!

Here is the reading nook.  I adore this chair.

It's a great place to snuggle up with Miss J and read a book.

Miss J has been begging me for a while for "flags" to put on her wall, so she was excited about this bunting!

The bunting adds fun pattern to the room!

The drapery is fun too.  I love the ruffles and dots.

Just because I know I will get asked, the stripe wall was done by me and the hubby!  It wasn't that hard to do, honestly.  It makes a big impact in the room!
